My name is Amy Steele and I am a recent graduate from the University at Buffalo. I majored in Informatics and am currently attending the Rochester Institute of Technology for Human-Computer Interaction masters program. I have always been fond of web design and have since become interested in the usability aspect of design which brought me to the HCI program.
I have been creating web pages since I was in high school (graduated 2002) and maintained the Webster High School Marching Band website for 4 years (2006-2010).
I worked part-time as a web developer for a privately owned business called RLComputing located in Buffalo, NY during my undergraduate program at UB. There, I coded web pages by converting HTML web pages that were in a table layout into a CSS layout. I also made changes to existing client's pages. I enjoyed working at RLComputing very much.
While at RIT for my graduate work, I aquired an 11 month internship at Eastman Kodak in Rochester, NY with the user experience group. I conducted usability studies on their digital still and video cameras. As well as some software and mobile apps. I enjoyed working at Kodak and would like to continue looking for a user research position at a major company.
